St. Catherines Monastery – stands at the foot of Mount Sinai, about an 8 hour drive from Cairo in the midst of the Sinai desert. The Monastery is one of the worlds oldest and visited by pilgrims around the world and is believed to stand the foot of Mt. Sinai, where Moses is believed to have received the ten commandments from God. Most visitors will make the pre-dawn climb up to the top of Mt. Sinai for sunrise.
Egyptian Museum, Cairo – One of the greatest museums in the world is a treasure trove of Pharaonic art.
Saqqara Pyramids – A day trip from Cairo, these are different from the Giza Pyramids which more visitors will see when in Cairo. Saqqara offers a huge network of tombs and pyramics and it is most well known for the Old Kingdom Step Pyramid.
